We offer independent psychological evaluations and opinions for veteran's seeking disability through the VA. Applying for service connection through the VA is a difficult process and we aim to make it easier by providing you with the appropriate documentation from the start. We take these evaluations in three steps: Medical Records Review, Nexus Letter, and the Evaluation.
Medical Records Review
The first step of our process is a review your records. For this service, we ask you for a copy of your medical records, including your DD-214, all service treatment records, rating decisions, C-File, and other relevant documents so that we can review them and determine the strength of your case. Then we provide you with our professional opinion on whether it would be valuable for you to pursue a disability claim based on your mental health concerns or if your resources would be better used elsewhere, such as a clinical diagnostic exam with psychological testing.
Nexus Letter
A Nexus letter is a written statement by a professional detailing events from your military service that have a high probability of leading to a mental health condition. These letters play a crucial role in strengthening your disability claim. We complete these letters after we've done a thorough medical records review.
Evaluation
The last portion of our process is the evaluation. The Veteran's Benefits Administration (VBA) calls these exams "Disability Benefits Questionnaires", or a DBQ Exam for short. There are three specific DBQs the VA uses for mental health conditions, which include:
PTSD
Eating Disorders
Mental health conditions other than PTSD and Eating disorders (ex. depression, anxiety, etc.)
We've completed thousands of these evaluations and know what types of questions the VA needs answered.
