Why Individual Therapy?Individual therapy is a proven treatment for many mental and emotional health concerns. While there are many types of individual therapy, clinical research has shown one of the most important aspects of effective therapy to be a good relationship with your therapist. That's why one of our top priorities is for our well-trained providers to be friendly and compassionate.
At The Joy & Wellness Center, our providers use an integrated treatment approach meaning that they often use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices (such as in Biofeedback), and EMDR. The length of Individual therapy often takes at least 16-20 sessions but ultimately depends on you and your needs. As part of on-going therapy, we track your symptoms and your progress through the use of standardized outcome measures and brain health monitoring. |
